My Weekly Pampering Session

Who doesn’t LOVE to be pampered!?

A couple of years ago, I started a weekly pampering ritual and I am SO thankful that I did! Juggling all the different responsibilities I have can be hectic and sometimes even a bit stressful. I am a law clerk, makeup artist, beauty blogger, girlfriend, sister, daughter, auntie, friend, and mom to a giant furbaby – and I don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon! So, in order to keep me sane, I realized that I need to take some time for me, myself and I.

Here is what I do during my weekly pampering session to truly unwind:

Hot Bath

I begin my pampering session with a nice hot bath. I always add Epsom salts, essential oils and bubble bath (seriously, what is a bath without bubbles?!) Epsom salts help with getting rid of toxins, reduce pain and stress and can help cramps at a certain time of the month (ladies – need I say more?) For essential oils, I prefer peppermint, lemon, lavender, and rosemary. Peppermint helps clear the respiratory system while lemon helps naturally cleanse the body. Rosemary is used for tension and fatigue while lavender helps to calm and relax. All that is left is a nice glass of red wine, some lit candles, and my iPad! Pure bliss…

Face Mask

For flawless skin, I like to apply a face mask while I am in the bath. I just sit back and relax and let the mask do all of the work! This is the ideal time for a mask as the steam from the hot bath helps open your pores and the mask can really sink into the skin and do its job! My favourite masks to use are:

1. LUSH – Mask Of Magnaminty 125g by Lush

2. Bliss Multi-Face-Eted All-In-One Anti-Aging Clay Mask 3x(4g/0.14oz)

3. GlamGlow Super-Mud Clearing Treatment-1.2-Ounce

Note: Along with applying a face mask, I will occasionally whiten my teeth while I am in the bath (obviously without the red wine!).

Body Scrub

I like to use a body scrub while I am having my bath so that I can really take my time! Using a body scrub helps to exfoliate away all of the dead skin and keep you super smooth. At this time of the year, it is especially important to exfoliate and moisturize as the cold weather wreaks havoc on your skin! My favourite scrub to use at the moment is The Body Shop – Shea Body Scrub (For Very Dry Skin) 200ml/7.9oz .

Of course, once I am out of the bath, I will lather on moisturizer (my favourite is still Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E Lotion for Unisex, 13.5 Ounce) and slip into some cozy pjs!

And that is how I like to pamper myself every week! I like to do this ritual on Sunday evenings as it is the perfect way to end the weekend and calmly enter the work week!

Do you have a pampering ritual? Let me know how you like to unwind!

That’s Y!
