In Gord We Trust

Yesterday, Canada was in mourning.

Elle Canada, a beauty authority, posted this tribute to a true Canadian legend.

It seems that almost everyone has their own “Hip” story. The ones where they initially fell in love with the band and their lyrics. For me, I often heard their songs growing up (especially from my sisters), but never had a true appreciation.

It wasn’t until the announcement that Gord had cancer and The Hip’s final tour, that my love for them grew. Watching the final show in my hometown, is my Hip story.

I finally heard their lyrics. I finally understood.

I was initially sad when I fell in love with The Hip because I felt like I found them too late. But, the beauty of it is, the music lives on forever.

R.I.P. Gord Downie

That’s Y.
